Bug Reports

Send reports of any bugs you have discovered to bugs@opensigcomp.org. Please include detailed information about how to replicate the bug, including any messages sent and received. We try to reply to all bug reports.

If you have a support contract with Estacado Systems to support the Open SigComp stack, please use the email address assigned to you instead of the general bugs address.

Code Contributions

We welcome improvements and enhancements to the Open SigComp library. If you simply wish to submit a patch, send it to patches@opensigcomp.org. Any such email should be accompanied either by the public domain release text below or a request for one of the two agreements.

If you would like to request commit access to the Open SigComp repository, sent an email to admin@opensigcomp.org, with a brief personal introduction and your request.

Because Estacado Systems makes the library available under several licenses, we require that you take one of the following actions before we can accept contributions. You can select from the following three options:

  1. You can release your contribution to the Public Domain. To do so, you must include the following text in any email you send with code changes:
I, [your full name], hereby release the attached source code into the public domain. This applies worldwide. I assert that I am the original author of this code, and that no one else has a legitimate claim of copyright to it. In the case that this release is not legally possible, I irrevocably grant anyone permission to use the attached source code for any purpose, without any conditions, except those required by law.
This approach is only applicable to patches that you mail to the Open SigComp project. If you request and are granted write-access to the Open SigComp code repository, you must instead use one of the other two approaches.
  2. You can license your contributions to Estacado Systems. This allows you to retain copyright to your code while giving the Open SigComp project sufficient permission to use it. If you select this option, you will be required to fax a license agreement to Estacado Systems before permission will be granted to access the repository.
  3. You can assign copyright to your contributions to Estacado Systems. If you select this option, you will be required to fax a copyright assignment agreement to Estacado Systems before permission will be granted to access the repository.
